FREE CONSULTATION
Let's Start a Conversation
Reach out with your situation, and we'll explore what makes sense for your parent and your family.
Free Initial Consultation
We offer a free, no-obligation consultation to discuss your parent's situation. This is simply a conversation—no sales pitch, no pressure to move forward.
During this call, we'll learn about your parent's current situation (home, health, family dynamics), explore what you're hoping to achieve, and discuss whether downsizing makes sense right now. We'll be honest if we think it's not the right time, and if it is, we'll outline next steps and timeline.
Most families find this conversation clarifying and helpful, whether they decide to work with us or not.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the initial consultation?
Usually 30-45 minutes. We want enough time to understand your situation without overwhelming you. If we're exploring options in detail, it might extend slightly longer.
What do I need to have ready?
Nothing specific. It's helpful if you can describe:
- Your parent's current home (location, type, approximate value)
- Their health and mobility situation
- Any major concerns or motivations for downsizing
- Family situation (who's involved, where they live)
- Rough timeline if applicable
But if you don't have all this organized, that's fine. We'll ask questions to fill in the gaps.
Can my parent join the call, or should I have it alone?
Either approach works. Some adult children want to gather information first before involving their parent. Others have the conversation with their parent present from the start. We're flexible. We can also have separate conversations with you and your parent if that feels right for your family dynamics.
What if I'm not sure yet whether my parent should downsize?
That's exactly who we talk to. If you're unsure, the consultation will help clarify whether downsizing makes sense, what concerns need addressing, and what timeline might be realistic. You're not committing to anything by having this conversation.
What happens after the consultation?
If you want to move forward, we'll propose next steps—whether that's getting a home valuation, exploring housing options, starting conversations with your parent, or something else entirely. If you decide not to move forward right now, we'll respect that. We'll stay in touch periodically (if you're comfortable) and be available when circumstances change.
Is there a cost to the consultation?
No. The initial consultation is completely free. You only incur costs if you decide to move forward with selling your parent's home or other services.
How is this call confidential?
We treat all information shared during consultations as confidential. We don't share details about your parent's situation, health, family dynamics, or financial situation with anyone without explicit permission. If we recommend other professionals (lawyers, financial planners, etc.), we'll ask your permission before sharing information or making referrals.
What if my parent resists the idea of downsizing?
That's a common situation. We have extensive experience helping families navigate resistance and conversations around aging and change.
During the consultation, we can discuss:
- How to start the conversation with your parent
- What resistance usually means
- How to honor autonomy while addressing legitimate concerns
- Timing strategies
- Whether downsizing makes sense right now or if there's a better timeline
We're not here to push your parent out the door. We're here to help the family think through this thoughtfully.
